Tuchapsky, Hryhorii [Тучапський, Григорій; Tučaps'kyj, Hryhorij], b 25 January 1877 in Krasnosilka, Chyhyryn county, Kyiv gubernia, d 2 July 1956 in New York, New York State. Baritone singer and pedagogue. He studied at the Kyiv Theological Seminary and the Saint Petersburg Conservatory (1900–3) and in Milan and Rome, and performed in opera theaters in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kharkiv, Saratov, Baku, and Tbilisi. In 1918 he was a professor at the Lysenko Music and Drama Institute in Kyiv, and in 1919 he became the singing instructor of the touring Ukrainian Republican Kapelle. From 1924 he lived in the United States, in New York, where he trained many singers at his studio.
