Kottmeier, Elisabeth, b 31 July 1902, d 11 January 1983. German writer and translator; the wife of Ihor Kostetsky. She was a coeditor of the irregular journal Ukraïna i svit (Hannover, 1946–69) and, with her husband, of the Na Hori publishing house. She translated Ukrainian literature into German: Vasyl Barka's Troiandnyi roman (Trojandenroman, 1956), the poetry anthology Weinstock der Wiedergeburt: Moderne ukrainische Lyrik (1957), and a selection of Lesia Ukrainka's works, Auf dem Blutacker. She and her husband cotranslated an anthology of old Ukrainian literature (Aus dem Alten Russland, 1968) and Oles Honchar's novel Sobor (The Cathedral, under the title Der Dom von Satschipljanka, 1970).
