Revai, Fedir [Ревай, Федір; Revaj], b 1888 in Mircha, Ung komitat, Transcarpathia, d 1945. Transcarpathian political and civic leader; brother of Yuliian Revai. He was a member of the chief executive of the Prosvita society in Uzhhorod and a deputy of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic party to the Provincial Assembly of Subcarpathian Ruthenia (1928–35). In 1937 he was expelled from the party because of his Ukrainian nationalism. He was a copublisher of the paper Nova svoboda (1938–9). In January 1939 he was elected president of the Ukrainian National Alliance (Transcarpathia), and in March, deputy speaker of the Diet of Carpatho-Ukraine. At the same time he served as director of the Carpatho-Ukrainian state press in Khust. He was persecuted by the Hungarian authorities (1939–44) and then arrested and deported by the Soviet secret police. He perished in a Soviet prison.
