Saint Raphael Galician and Bukovynian Emigrant Aid Society

Saint Raphael Galician and Bukovynian Emigrant Aid Society (Товариство св. Рафаїла для охорони руських емігрантів з Галицгини і Буковини; Tovarystvo sv. Rafaila dlia okhorony ruskykh emigrantiv z Halychyny i Bukovyny). A branch of the Austrian Saint Raphael Society that operated in Lviv from 1907 to 1914. Dedicated to aiding emigrants and maintaining contact with them, the Lviv society took an interest in all the countries to which Ukrainians had recently emigrated. In 1911 it began to publish Emigrant as a source of practical advice. The society’s leading members were Rev Nykyta Budka and Mykola Zaiachkivsky. After 1914 its activities ceased. From 1925 a similar purpose was served by the Ukrainian Emigrant Aid Society.
