Pavlovsky, Metodii

Pavlovsky, Metodii [Павловський, Методій; Pavlovs'kyj, Metodij], b 20 June 1876 in Lisovychi, Tarashcha county, Kyiv gubernia, d 1957. Journalist and civic and co-operative movement leader; brother of Hryhorii Pavlovsky. He was secretary (1906) of the newspaper Hromads’ka dumka in Kyiv and editor (1907–13) of the daily Rada (Kyiv), to which he contributed theater and music reviews under various pseudonyms. He compiled and published a collection of Ukrainian folk songs under the pseudonym M. Lisovytsky.
