Kalynovych, Volodymyr

Kalynovych, Volodymyr [Калинович, Володимир; Kalynovyč], b 30 June 1884 in Shyshkivtsi, Borshchiv county, Galicia, d in February 1945 in Dresden, Germany. Educator and publicist. He was the author of German grammars, a Ukrainian-German dictionary (1931), and articles on educational themes and the publisher of the newspaper Ukrainische Blätter (Vienna 1918) and the journals Ukraïna (Kyiv 1919) and Ukraïns’ka shkola (Lviv 1925). Kalynovych and his wife and daughter were killed during the Allied bombing of Dresden.
