Kostyniuk, Ronald [Костинюк, Рональд; Kostynjuk], b 8 July 1941 in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. Sculptor and educator. Educated at the universities of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Wisconsin, from 1971 he taught design and sculpture at the University of Calgary. He has had over 25 solo exhibitions in Canada. Most of Kostyniuk’s sculptures are large relief structures built of plexiglass with multiple colored planes arranged in a complex geometric composition. They suggest that there is an affinity between pure science and abstract art. Kostyniuk is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
