Mohylianska, Ladia

Mohylianska, Ladia [Могилянська, Ладія; Mohyljans'ka, Ladja], b 26 November 1899 in Chernihiv, d 6 June 1937 in Moscow. Neoromantic poet; daughter of Mykhailo Mohyliansky and sister of Dmytro Tas. Her first poem was published in the Kharkiv monthly Chervonyi shliakh in 1923. Several others appeared between 1924 and 1927 in Zhyttia i revoliutsiia, the journal Nova hromada, Vsesvit, Zoria (Dnipropetrovsk), and Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk. She was accused of belonging to the ficticious Union for the Liberation of Ukraine (SVU) and from 1930 she was imprisoned in labor camps in the Solovets Islands and near Moscow, where she was executed by the NKVD.
