Provincial School Union

Provincial School Union (Крайовий шкільний союз; Kraiovyi shkilnyi soiuz). An organization founded in 1910 in Lviv by representatives of several Ukrainian political parties and principal community organizations to co-ordinate and administer Ukrainian private education in Galicia. Its primary concern was secondary education. Mykhailo Hrushevsky and Ivan Kyveliuk served as presidents of the union, and Liudvyh Salo served as director. The union suspended activity with the onset of the First World War and eventually disbanded, in 1920. On many occasions the union worked together with the Ukrainian Pedagogical Society.
