Yushkov, Serafim

Yushkov, Serafim [Юшков, Серафим; Juškov], b 4 May 1888 in Trofimovshchina, Penza gubernia, Russia, d 18 August 1952 in Moscow. Russian historian; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR from 1939. He taught at Moscow University and Leningrad University and worked at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. He specialized in medieval states and law and published a number of works on the Princely era of Ukraine, including ones on the statute of Grand Prince Volodymyr the Great (1925), the Ruskaia Pravda (1935, 1950), and the history of feudalism in Kyivan Rus’ (1939).
