Petsukh, Hryhorii or Pecuch, Grzegorz [Пецух, Григорій; Pecux, Hryhorij], b 23 January 1923 in Florynka, Nowy Sącz county, Galicia, d 24 November 2008 in Zakopane, Poland. Ukrainian-Polish sculptor. A graduate of the Zakopane Lyceum of Plastic Techniques (1950) and the Warsaw Academy of Arts (1955), he taught sculpting in Zakopane. His animal and human figures, such as Mother with Child, Banduryst, Lemko, Ivan Franko, Orchard, Tree of Life, and Girl, are done mostly in wood and are closely associated with Lemko traditions. His work was exhibited not only in Poland but also in New York, Washington, DC, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and Stockholm.
