Great bustard (Otis tarda; Ukrainian: drokhva). The largest game and land bird in Ukraine and Europe. Its length is over 1 m, and its weight is 10–21 kg. It is found in the steppe and the forest-steppe belts, the Crimea, and northern Caucasia. In the past bustards were far more numerous and widespread; in 1910 they could still be found in western Podilia.
