Korchev

Korchev (also Kφrchev, Krφchev). The old Slavic name for a 10th–12th-century city in Tmutorokan principality, now the city of Kerch. It was an important trade center linking Kyivan Rus’ with the Crimea, the Caucasus, and the Mediterranean Sea. Earlier, the city was known as Panticapaeum.
