Zahrava

Zahrava (Crimson Sky). A semimonthly political journal published in Lviv by Dmytro Dontsov from April 1923 to mid-1924. Initially it was financially supported by the Ukrainian Military Organization (UVO), and its regular contributors were UVO members (eg, Dmytro Paliiv, Vasyl Kuchabsky, Mykhailo Matchak, and Volodymyr Kuzmovych). Aimed at a peasant readership, the journal propagated an uncompromising form of integral nationalism. In 1924 Dontsov and Zahrava's supporters organized a distinct political party, the Ukrainian Party of National Work. The journal served as the party's organ.
