Nova hromada, monthly (New Community). A literary and scholarly monthly published in Kyiv in 1906. A total of 12 issues appeared. It was funded by Volodymyr M. Leontovych and Yevhen Chykalenko and edited by them and by Borys Hrinchenko and Serhii Yefremov. Among the contributors were Khrystia Alchevska, Spyrydon Cherkasenko, Pylyp Kapelhorodsky, Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, Ahatanhel Krymsky, Marko Kropyvnytsky, Volodymyr Kushnir, Mykhailo Lozynsky, Fedir Matushevsky, Volodymyr Samiilenko, Arkhyp Teslenko, Ivan Truba, Lesia Ukrainka, Mykola Vorony, Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Liubov Yanovska, and Bohdan Yaroshevsky. Taras Shevchenko's poems ‘Sova’ (The Owl) and ‘Try lita’ (Three Years) were first published in the journal. Ukrainian translations of works by Heinrich Heine, Victor Hugo, Pierre-Jean de Béranger, Maurice Maeterlinck, and Anatole France were also included. The monthly ceased publication with the transfer of Literaturno-naukovyi vistnyk from Lviv to Kyiv.
