Kozeratsky, Vasyl [Козерацький, Василь; Kozerac'kyj, Vasyl'], b 13 January 1906 in Hruzke, Balta county, Podilia gubernia, d 29 December 1982 in Kyiv. Opera singer (dramatic tenor). Graduating from the Odesa Music and Drama Institute in 1931, he appeared in musical-comedy theaters in Odesa (see Odesa Musical Comedy Theater), Kyiv (see Kyiv Operetta Theater), and Dnipropetrovsk. In 1951 he joined the Kyiv Theater of Opera and Ballet as a soloist, and in 1963 he turned to teaching. From 1965 he taught at the Kyiv Conservatory. His repertoire included such parts as Andrii in Mykola Lysenko's Taras Bulba, Bohun in Kostiantyn Dankevych’s Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Vasyl in Heorhii Maiboroda’s Mylana, and Herman in Peter Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades.
