Lastivka

Lastivka [«Ластівка»]. A Russophile children’s magazine, published in Lviv from 1869 to 1881. A supplement to Uchytel’ (1869–74) until 1874, it appeared weekly until 1874, and then twice a week. The editor and publisher was M. Klemertovych. Lastivka published articles on religion and history by Ieremiia Halka (pseudonym of Mykola Kostomarov), Adolf Dobriansky, Dmytro Vintskovsky, and Osyp Markov, and on economic and agricultural subjects by Hryhorii Vretsona, Ivan Naumovych, and others.
